Problem: 

The problems caused by the monopolization and corporatization of the media are legion and increasingly apparent to people of all political persuasions around the world. The efforts to counter these trends are also legion -- this pattern language is one such effort. If, through ignorance,laziness, habit, need for spectacle or other reasons, people continue to support corporate media, the alternative efforts might be dooomed.
