Week 4 Report

- Capitol Classroom visited Green Hill School's United Youth Council Monday. They had Olympia lobbyist, Steve Lindstrom, visit class on Monday to review the collaborative support for House Bill 1481, removing Legal Financial Obligations (restitution) as a requirement to seal juvenile records. He spoke to the House committee on this bill last week and will again this week. He is also assisting in creating Advocacy Plans for specific legal issues that relate to incarcerated youth.
- There will be a Juvenile Justice day at the Capitol on Thursday, and I will be traveling with Green Hill residents as they speak on legislation that affects them.
- I am meeting with Sustainable Prison Project (SPP) on Wednesday at 2:00pm regarding a partnership between Juvenile Justice & Rehabilitation Associations (JJ&RA) and SPP. More news to follow at CIRAL on Wednesday.
- Created a flyer for a job fair at Green Hill which I have organized for February 27th from 12-4pm.
- Sat down with Green Hill School principal, Tim Touhey, to discuss Future Farmers of America at Green Hill.
