Things fell through for the Journalism cluster this week. All of the filming that I had wanted to do didn't happen - I either got the wrong information, or the events didn't happen. Additionally, the audio recording for the YouTube series did not happen, either, due to unforseen circumstances.
For the CPJ, I have restructured how we edit our articles and submissions. It used to be a free for all - each piece had to get read at leat three times before it was published, but there was no assignment for pecific people to read specific articles. Now, section editors (News, A&E, Opinion) are heading their own departments, and have a team of their respective reporters and copy editors to focus on specific topics. I think that this will give people a more specific goal of how editing nights are supposed to go, and they will feel less lost among everybody editing articles helter-skelter.
I've received word back from the Academic Deans about the internship (it cannot be a ILC), and they say it is good. I am tryping up a syllibus so people next year won't be lost as to where to start the internship, and cleaning up some language in the internship abourt credit and responsibility.
