Adam Selon

I work as a counselor at Capital Recovery Center, a Community Mental Health Agency in Downtown Olympia Washington. I am also a full-time student in my final year at The Evergreen State College.

This Spring is my 3rd quarter with CIRAL. I have been involved with the StoryWorks cluster in past quarters and love to make myself available to anyone interested in the Digital Storytelling method that I am trained in facilitating.

Visit youtube.com/ourlifestoryz to see some of the Digital Storytelling work I have done with individuals living with mental illnesses.

My major focuses are currently the Pattern Language and Home Office clusters as well as serving as CIRAL's liaison with Evergreen's Center for Community-Based Learning and Action (CCBLA).

I am working on authoring a few patterns to add to the Liberating Voices compilation and the establishment and exploration of "Anti-patterns" that might bring to light and catalog the rampant patterns that damage our world and our collective capacity for problem solving.

This quarter I am heading up the design and production of a short and entertaining video that grounds viewers in a basic understanding of 'Civic Intelligence'; what it is, what it is not, and why it is a new and vital frame to understanding and solving our complex social problems. I am also invested in creating a short "Welcome Video" that explains the purpose and function of the Civic Intelligence Research and Action Lab (CIRAL) to share with new members in future quarters.

When I am not working on any of the above projects and responsibilities I am watching The Daily Show and adding to my blog about the opposite of Civic Intelligence--Collective Ignorance--check it out at agnosphere.wordpress.com
